Dynavac recently delivered a 74” Hyperion Optical Coating System to the University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE), a national resource for high energy physics. LLE turned to Dynavac because of our long-standing reputation of building precision optical coating systems, custom engineering abilities, and expertise in commissioning large-scale systems.
Dynavac engineers collaborated with the LLE team to develop a multi-functional system to support current and future programs. Built in our Massachusetts facility, the system features a 74-inch vacuum chamber that is equipped with a custom-engineered fixture that supports three methods of rotation. The control system is designed to accommodate specific process recipes for LLE’s coating requirements, enabling execution of complex coatings with exacting precision. We demonstrated system functionality and process at our facility before transporting and installing the system in Rochester.
