Dynavac Orion heat flux page

NASA’s Orion Spacecraft arrived at NASA Glenn’s Plum Brook Station in November 2019 for extensive thermal vacuum testing in preparation of the Artemis I Mission. Flying from Kennedy Space Center to Ohio’s Mansfield Lahm Airport aboard NASA’s Super Guppy aircraft, the spacecraft was transported 41 miles to Plum Brook Station where it was positioned inside the giant Dynavac Heat Flux Cage. The heat flux cage was designed to simulate the extreme high temperatures that the spacecraft will experience during its three-week journey to the moon.
