Design & Manufacturing

At Dynavac, we design and manufacture our equipment all under one roof, giving you confidence that your system is being built to the highest standards and production control.

Dynavac’s engineering team is world-class, with expertise that spans the disciplines of process engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, and software development. Together with our fabrication experts, they have the competencies to develop complex high-vacuum systems from concept to commissioning.

Systems are constructed in our 35,000 square foot facility in Hingham, Massachusetts.   In addition to full-service fabrication capabilities, the facility features an integrated ERP system, dedicated space to fully assemble and test systems, and finishing facility to support stringent paint procedures.   Our Application Laboratory allows us to fully support customers in their product development efforts.

Dynavac operates under the control of a quality assurance plan that is registered to ISO-9000: AS-9100 standards.  Through this system, we strive for overall excellence in our products and services.

Leadership Team

Thomas Foley, President and Chief Executive Officer
As President and CEO of Dynavac, Tom directs the company's business development and strategic planning efforts. With over 30 years of engagement in the vacuum system industry, he possesses an extraordinary depth of knowledge in a variety of key areas, including machine design, thin film processes, and thermal/cryogenic technology. Tom's business development abilities, combined with his strong technical and leadership capabilities, have enabled Dynavac to achieve steady and substantial growth in the past several years.

Richard Ruff, Vice President of Operations
Rich guides the strategic and tactical direction of Dynavac’s manufacturing operations and assists in designing and executing a successful organizational strategy. He is an accomplished business manager with more than 25 years’ experience in the vacuum products industry. On a day-to-day basis, Rich diligently oversees the company’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality and delivery performance of its products.

Ramya Chandrasekaran, Director of Technology
Ramya leads the Dynavac's new product development and technical sales efforts. She has extensive experience in process-driven design and manufacturing of ultra-high vacuum deposition and etching systems serving a variety of markets including semiconductor and solar industries. Dr. Chandrasekaran earned her PhD in Electrical Engineering from Boston University specializing in epitaxial growth of wideband-gap materials using molecular beam epitaxy and fabrication of optoelectronic devices. She has authored numerous publications, presentations and patents.

Leo Monteiro, Director of Electrical and Software Engineering
As Director of Electrical and Software Engineering, Leo harnesses strong management and technical competencies to oversee the automation and pre-ship qualification of Dynavac’s products. He has over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, integration and test management of automated manufacturing systems. His expertise combined with his knowledge of software development brings industry-leading sophistication and robust operating capability to Dynavac’s systems.

Rob Pollara, Engineering Manager
With a solid background in machine design, solid modeling, structural analysis, and systems integration, Rob leads Dynavac's mechanical engineering group in creating innovative, industry-leading system designs. He joined Dynavac in 1999 as a mechanical engineering student from Northeastern University, and was hired on a permanent basis in 2001. In addition to his technical abilities, Rob has led many of Dynavac’s large-scale projects from design to final commissioning.

Elizabeth Claflin, Sales & Marketing Manager
At Dynavac since 1989, Liz is responsible for Sales and Marketing activities for the company. She possesses unparalleled insight into the company’s offerings as well as the complex needs of its customers. Her product knowledge, along with her unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction, makes Liz an excellent ambassador for the Dynavac brand.


Dynavac is a growing and dynamic organization with a highly skilled workforce, conveniently located 20 miles south of Boston, just off Route 3 in Hingham, MA. We are constantly on the lookout for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, high vacuum process equipment and fluid dynamics. In addition, Dynavac is interested in fabricators and welders with large equipment manufacturing experience, and candidates who have worked in machining, assembly of systems and industrial electrical control wiring.
